Fiji Weather

Saturdays Charter

The whole of the Fiji Islands has been experiencing strong winds & rain for most of the week.

We lost a couple of charters, because of the conditions , but Phillip & son Daniel wanted to give it a try yesterday, as they were leaving Savusavu this morning.

The wind was blowing up to 25knts, as we made our way slowly to the entrance, very uncomfortable conditions for fishing, so headed back up the harbour.

It wasn't long before one of the lines went off, Phillip put Daniel in the chair, & started to help him bring in the fish, it was still very rough in the bay, & wind still blowing steady, so had to be careful we didn't get too many lines crossing over.

After a while, Daniel had the fish to the boat, a Walu, Terry gaffed it & it was safely on board, & in the fish box.
About 10mins later the line went off again, this time it was Phillip who took the chair, again another nice Walu, just as Terry gaffed it another line went off, but didn't hook up.

We slowly made our way back to the Copra Shed Marine, without another strike, but considering the sea conditions, I think we were lucky to get 2 nice fish.
