Wet weather
It has not been a good few months, we have had a awful lot of rain over the Fiji Islands causing some of the worse flooding on Viti Levu around the Nadi, Lautoka, Ba & Rakiraki areas.
Households loosing everything as the floods raged through the towns, fortunately only 5 lives were lost, but people are now left with nothing, & no fresh water to drink.
Yesterday on Vanua Levu, Labasa & some villages along some of the coastal roads in Savusavu that are near rivers, were flooded, farmers loosing all their crops.
Haven't had much work this year one of the worse for us, hopefully it will pick up soon as we are over the cyclone season, the report coming in is fish is very hard to find?
Went to buy fish & chips from our local & ended up with chicken & chips as there wasn't any fish!
The sun is trying hard to come out from behind the clouds so hopefully we will be able to dry out the soggy ground, & get the grass again.
Some photos taken on a fine day when we took Searov out to charge batteries.

Calm seas in Savusavu
As we left the dock on Sunday we weren't very hopeful as the last couple of charters fish has been hard to find & we only ended up with 4 Skippie's, not a bad size but not Yellow fin!
It was a beautiful calm day out on the ocean but like the last charters, bird life & fish weren't around, headed to the Koro sea mount, nothing around so we headed towards the reef.
We were getting really desperate to find some life, so decided as a last bit to try a place where we have caught fish when none of the other places have produced.
Thankfully, as we drew closer Sam asked what that white thing in the water was? It was a bird & as I looked ahead with the binoculars I saw a mass of life, both birds & fish.
It was great to see all the Yellowfin jumping out of the water, we finally got 6 in the boat but lost 3 fish & lures. Time to go shopping for new lures.
Now it was time to head home, as all of a sudden it all went dead.

A Day Out With Guisselle & Garrett
Hello Trevina,
Sorry for the delay in my response. Here are some photos and what I would like to add to the blog.
Thank you again for the experience!
"My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of spending the day at sea with Trevina and Terry on Jan 6, 2018. Although, I got a little ill from being out on a boat for the first time, these two made sure the experience was wonderful. We met with them in the early morning and watched the beautiful Fijian sunrise. After some time, we caught a yellowfin tuna! I am thankful to have met such kind people, and I am happy that we got to enjoy Fiji from a different persepctive.
Vinaka vaka levu,
Guisselle & Garrett"
Thank you both for the very kind words.
All the best in your journey together.
Terry & Trevina.

Beautiful Sunrise In Savusavu.
What a lovely sight that greeted us as we waited for our guest to arrive for their charter.
Over the last few weeks there has been such a foul smell coming off all the Mangrove that the developers on Nawi have destroyed, last week our guest complained about the stench. It is a sad sight to see Mangroves that took hundreds of years to grow to that stage destroyed in a matter of weeks.
Anyway it was a great day on the water, Lisa got her wish & saw whales & Will got his fish, a nice Sailfish, and we all enjoyed the morning on the water.
Sorry I didn't manage to get the tail & beak in, bad camera work! It measured just over 8ft in length but couldn't weight it.
