Flying Back To Savusavu
The flight from Nadi International Airport to Savusavu usually takes an 1hr.
Once we leave the airport, the plane usually flies for about 5 mins over the ocean.
Then turns towards the mountains, & crosses the ranges, before once again flying over the ocean towards Vanua Levu, where Savusavu is suitated.
The day I travelled, the rivers looked brown, but the vegetation was very green, as a lot of rain had fallen the night before.
It is a very scenic trip, & is wonderful to see all the coral atolls, & beautiful water colours, as we fly over.

Back In Savusavu
16th Febuary
At last, I am back safely in Savusavu, it is so good to be back in our little paradise.
I think when you live here, it is good to leave at least once a year, so as to appreciate what we have.
Nothing much has changed except with all the rain, the plants in my garden are overgrown, & there seem to be a lot of weeds, so guess it will be gardening for me for the next few weeks, to put the garden back in order.
The news on the fishing front while I was away was good, a couple of Marlin were hooked but unfortunately got off. Some nice size Mahimahi and Yellowfin Tuna were caught.
I was told a couple of friends hooked & brought in a lovely Yellowfin tuna, weighing in round about 65kg. Do hope they are able to give me a photo of the fish.
The seas are so calm again & days are hot, so guess we will have to wait a while before we can go fishing. Can't wait.

Visiting NZ & Australia
15th February
Well it was quiet a break for me, visiting New Zealand & Australia.
Last week 2 cruise boats visited Savusavu.
While in Auckland I visited the wharf area where one of the cruise ships was docked, what a difference to actually see one of those ships that visit our little town, close up, it was huge, no wonder they can't dock at our wharf in Savusavu.
It was a very long flight home to Savusavu from Perth, with a stop over in Sydney, there were so many planes leaving at the same time, it took us 30mins to get to the runway & take off.
This made our arrival into Nadi 45mins late, so missed the connecting flight to Savusavu, still after 9hrs flying & 3hrs stop over, I was ready to put my head down.
